Answering your calling can sometimes feel daunting. We may feel hesitant because we are frightened by the inevitable opposition, or because we are complacent in the life we’ve already created on our own. What the Lord asks of you may seem impossible at times, but, thankfully, He is a God who thrives in the impossible. He is fighting with you and for you, and has given you everything you need to enter your battlefield confidently. Don’t let yourself or your values become misplaced.

It seems that sometimes we seem to be more excited about our blessings than we are to simply be able to have a close relationship with the Lord. But in reality – no blessing is greater than being able to stand in the dwelling place of the Most High, surrounded by His sweet Spirit. Nothing we could receive could match the privilege of touching Heaven.

How much of yourself will you give to get the blessing God has for you? Just because God has promised you something, doesn’t mean you’re not going to have to work to obtain it. Your season of preparation is sure to turn to a season of plenty… in due time. God promised it in His Word, and His Word is always true. But be sure that while you wait for your blessing, you do not forsake your time of sowing. For without preparation, your blessing will fall on unstable ground. Be patient and continue to obey His decrees, and you’ll see His faithfulness poured out in the most perfect timing.

Are you missing God’s answer to your prayer because you’re not open to any other answer than the one you expect? Maybe God has already responded to your cry, but you haven’t accepted it because it’s not what you wanted to hear. Don’t form so many preconceived notions in your mind of how you want God to provide that you limit your view of His power and His ability to move in your situation.

The Hearts

Just like the physical heart is the source of life for our bodies, so is our figurative heart the source of life for our spirit. Our hearts are also considered the center of our being that holds the essence of our every emotion – the starting place of our thoughts which eventually lead to words and actions. Whatever is in our heart affects the choices we make and the attitude we portray.

Fatal Friendship

While we are all responsible for our own actions, we cannot be foolish enough to think that our friends do not sway our decisions. We value their opinions and trust their counsel – especially when we are at our weakest point and feel directionless. So that means you have to always use wisdom on who you surround yourself with and be cautious with who you let speak into your life.

It has been said: “humility is not thinking less of yourself, but thinking of yourself less.” Humbling ourselves does not require a low self-esteem by any means… We are sinners saved by grace; priceless jewels in the eyes of our Savior! But in order to obtain a humble spirit, we are challenged to consider others’ interests above our own.
